Alicante, San Vicente del Raspeig, Sant Joan d'Alacant, El Campello and Mutxamel share a metropolitan transport system called TAM. It includes the TRAM and the city and intercity buses, all with the same Móbilis card. The fares in this guide are those in force since 1 October 2026. They change often: always check TRAM d'Alacant and Vectalia Alicante before travelling.
TRAM d'Alacant (FGV)
The TRAM is the Generalitat's (regional government's) tram and light rail network, run by FGV. According to the official zone map (May 2026), it has six lines:
- L1: Luceros – Benidorm. It runs along the north coast and through El Campello.
- L2: Luceros – Sant Vicent del Raspeig. It stops at the Hospital General, Universitat and the centre of San Vicente.
- L3: Luceros – El Campello. It shares track with the L1 through Albufereta, Muchavista and Les Llances.
- L4: Luceros – Plaza La Coruña, via Cabo de las Huertas and Platja de Sant Joan.
- L5: Porta del Mar – Plaza La Coruña.
- L9: Benidorm – Dénia (connects with the L1 in Benidorm).
The «Platja de Sant Joan» stop is on San Juan beach, in Alicante. The official map shows no stops in the town centre of Sant Joan d'Alacant or in Mutxamel: you get there by bus.
Timetables and journey planner: TRAM d'Alacant. Information telephone shown on the map: 900 72 04 72.

Alicante-Elche Airport
Line C-6 links the airport with central Alicante every day of the year, including at night (Vectalia timetable). During the day it runs roughly every 11-12 minutes; in the early hours, every half hour. Its stops include Puerta del Mar, MARQ-Castillo, Mercado, Luceros, the railway station and San Gabriel (Cercanías). At the airport, the stop is on the departures road (Aena).
The C-6 has its own fare since 24 July 2026: €4.70 for a single ticket and €8.10 for a 10-journey pass (Vectalia notice).
Train (Renfe)
The main station is Alacant Terminal, with high-speed, long-distance and medium-distance trains. Two lines leave from the Cercanías Murcia/Alicante (commuter rail) network:
- C1: Alacant Terminal – Murcia del Carmen, via Sant Gabriel, Torrellano, Elche and Orihuela.
- C3: Alacant Terminal – San Vicente Centro.
Timetables and fares: Renfe Cercanías.
Bus station
It is at Muelle de Poniente, next to the port. It is run by Alsa and Vectalia and offers around 200 regional, long-distance and international destinations. Real-time departures and opening hours: Estación de Autobuses de Alicante.
Taxi and VTC
At the airport, the taxi rank is on the arrivals road. Aena states that fares from the airport carry a €4.25 supplement (Aena, taxi). For VTC (chauffeur-driven vehicles booked through an app), check availability and price in the app itself.
Car and parking
Alicante has a blue zone (ORA, pay-and-display parking) and an orange zone for residents. In April 2026 the Town Council put out to tender a new contract that will make the orange zone free for residents and add more spaces (municipal notice). Until it comes into force, follow the signs and the fares on each parking meter.
Bicycle and scooter
- San Vicente del Raspeig has a municipal bike-share service, BiciSanvi, with 14 stations as of January 2026 (Town Council). You sign up at bicisanvi.es.
- On the TRAM only folding bicycles are allowed, and they must always be folded. Electric scooters and bikes and other personal mobility vehicles are prohibited (travel rules).
- Electric scooters: since 2026 they must be entered in the DGT (Directorate-General for Traffic) register and carry compulsory insurance (DGT). Whether a helmet is required depends on each municipality's bylaw.
